A Brookline resident since 1990, Luciana has served on Boards and committees, always working with a social justice lens. She helped found both the Diversity Committee and the Arts Committee at William H. Lincoln school. An immigrant from Brazil and a classically-trained ballerina, Luciana has mentored Brazilian Boston Ballet dancers and young Brazilian dancers around the world with a focus on guiding dancers of color and dancers in the LGBTQ+ community. For many years, Luciana was part of the 21st Century Fund fundraising efforts for the African American Scholars and the Tutorial program, and was part of the gala and fundraising committee at Roxbury Prep Charter School. She joined the leadership group of Brookline for Racial Justice and Equity in 2018.
